At the bottom of the dialog that appears are the attributes for that particular file. So I emailed the file to myself. I have no clue why the command mode worked and file explorer did not work. they're not getting the problem. Yes, the little file icons help, too, but those icons aren't always easily identifiable. I'm guessing you wouldn't be so flippant if you actually had the problem. Guess this is a bug to be fixed. If there're a lot of folders/files and when I try to look for something that's out of the Explorer display frame, I have to race with time! This is quite safe--remember that you can restore the original extension if anything goes wrong.
