This just happened 3 days ago @Xhi Yes, it does recognize my monitor model in the display entry. i have tried the following to fix this: 1. Windows 7 insists my monitor is non-PNP which is ridiculous, it is a high end monitor, a Viewsonic VP2330wb. the solusion for this was to update the "generic pnp monitor" driver under "monitors" once this update was completed the dim problem was fixed but now the pilot screen is again Search ebay for "monitor detection" and get one around $20.
