I think the rest of the hardware are okay because I can boot up to windows but things are so slow and CPU is up at 100%. Now, I'd like to replace the motherboard on my machine to get the higher speeds for SSDs, but I would rather not have to by another OE copy of Win 7 From their you can continue reinstalling drivers for your motherboard etc. Please try the request again. I didn't think that was possible, per EULA.

Do I have to own a company? Windows 10 Changing Motherboard I literally spent more time getting windows 8 to work than it took me to build my computer. Some software vendors may keep track of the installations although I've never encountered any issues - other than with my music and itunes. But I guess if you're going to wipe your laptop.

Install whatever new components you have and boot your system up. The motherboard is what Microsoft considers "a new PC" and all the other parts are irrelevant. Is this a new thing in 8+? You may need to call MS during the activation process and get a number from them to enter to the machine after the hardware change/reinstall, but it can be done with Change Motherboard Without Reinstalling Windows 7
