You can create a restore point at any time, though Windows automatically creates a restore point once per week. Maybe this is going overboard, since if Restore Points don't disappear, then so long as I've got a couple stored, I'm safe. So guess what I did… reverted back to Windows 7 (where it still had all my apps). System Restore Windows Vista I come back and it has rebooted saying updates have completed.
