Desktop Icons Freeze But Start Menu/Taskbar Work Normal
Here at the office I had a Windows 7 32bit system running IE8 32bit. This can be achieved by pressing ‘WIN' + ‘X' keys simultaneously on your keyboard or right-clicking on the Windows icon in the Windows Taskbar. I can access the Start menu and activate whatever as usual. i push the power button to shut it off because that's the only way i can turn it off and it flashes real fast and everything is right there. Please try the request again. in my case the file "svchost.exe" was quarantined by quick heal,so I restored it back. Talk about a long work around to remove their software.
The only thing on the desktop that does NOT freeze is the Vista Sidebar/Gadgets.
Without your note I don't know how long I would have beat my head against this brick wall. I have exactly the same problem as thexsn3akyxn: I start up vista, then, for a short period of time, I can see my desktop. I decided to run the scan just for kicks - bad idea! I cannot activate any of them.
When I force a shut down of the system, both the desktop icons and the taskbar become visible right before the system shuts down, and i can see that the system When I close down Explorer via the Task manager and then do the new task option, explorer doesn`t start. After closing IE8 they stopped working. Check This Out Voilà !
