Read More ! Right? USB drivers are supposed to be totally generic these days, but every now and then, the generic drivers just do not like other drivers for some reason or another. I have an old Dell with XP. I have heard that some people don't find it to be entirely reliable, so perhaps passing its checks/tests was false security for me.

I have had this problem on a couple of machines in the past and it has always been caused by static and ironically only happens on the front ports. If you leave USB drive plugged in to your PC, and the BIOS is set to boot from USB first, your PC will not boot properly. How you can fix it (each step should fix the problem, if step 1 does not work, move to the next step): 1: Make sure your not blocking any vent's. 2: I don't trust the new interface where everything is set to "Auto". weblink If you disable the auto-reboot feature, most times, it turns out that the 'just randomly reboots' symptom is actually a BSOD.
If nothing changes, it probably isn't memory related. Finally, I tried Asus MB CD USB 3.0 driver and 2.08 FTDI driver. Thanks for the offer though.

I'm attaching everything requested in the main sticky/instructions, alongside his PC's dxdiag. I dumped my PC 2-1/2 years ago and purchased an Apple iMac, except for a few "early-on crashes" due to my learning curve, it's humming right along, like a fine-tuned car!
Could my WD black be the culprit? It happened about 5 times now, with the checksum error occurring only once. I believe my WD Black is on ideport3. check over here Is it acessing invalid memory or is there a warning that something can't be loaded?
